Consum subscribes Food Chain’s Code of Practice

Consum has subscribed to the Code of Market Practices in Food Procurement along with 78 companies and associations throughout Spain.

This code is part of the Law of measures to improve the functioning of the Food Chain, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Among its objectives are the following: achieving better balance and transparency in commercial relations, improving access to information and traceability throughout the chain and regulating commercial practices. The Code of Practices also addresses negotiation, innovation and information, and includes commitments such as product quality guarantee, the reduction of food wastage and the reinforcement of cooperation in market crisis situations.
