This month, in Traveling with taste we suggest you visit one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. Granada is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway with the whole family. If you don’t know the Alhambra, you have to plan a trip to the Andalusian city. We show you at a glance a visual map of the city and we tell you what to see in Granada, where to go, what to do and what not to miss.

There’s something special about Granada, that charm that only certain places have. It’s a city made up of many cities, the university, the tourism, and the footprint of the Nazari kingdom. Our route around Granada starts in its most emblematic spot, the Alhambra and Generalife, one of Spain’s biggest tourist attractions. After wandering through its palaces and gardens we can escape to the Sierra Nevada to ski, or just to enjoy the view. The Spice Market, next to the Cathedral, is where ancient Granada will truly intoxicate you. To keep your energy levels up, head to the Albaicin for tapas and then head to the Sacramonte, the home of Flamenco, to enjoy the song and dance. You can’t leave Granada without seeing an unforgettable sunset from the San Nicolas viewpoint. You also can’t miss a wander through the forest of the Alhambra, and before packing your bags make sure you head for a bakery and grab a box of piononos, typical sweet treats, which will make your departure a little less bitter.
