The Christmas tree is the decorative element that can be found in every home each Christmas. It is the quintessential symbol that represents this festive season. This 2020, give it a change with some new handmade decorations!
Making handicrafts as a family creates the perfect moment to enjoy, with the classic sounds of Christmas while unleashing your most creative side. All you will need is some toilet rolls, paint, cardboard and a little bit of clay. Paper handicrafts for the Christmas tree
Decorations made from toilet roll cardboard
Who said that toilet rolls had to end up in the rubbish bin? The best way to recycle is to re-use materials. So, let’s get on with the task!
Materials
- Toilet rolls
- Sticky tape or glue
- Card for decorating
- Paints
- Coloured paints – the ones you like best
- Cotton wool
- String for hanging the decorations
Instructions
1. Paint the toilet rolls in the colours that fit with the figures that you are going to re-create. For example, if you are making a Father Christmas, you will need red, and brown if you are making a reindeer.
2. While you let the paint dry, start making the decorative details. Draw on the face and belt on Father Christmas or the eyes and red nose on Rudolph.
3. Draw the accessories on the card you have bought so that you can cut them out later and add them to the decorations.
4. Don’t forget to give Father Christmas his cotton wool beard!
5. Then, using glue or sticky tape, add the hanging string and…voilà!
