We propose you some recipes to share.
You can plan the dinner in several different ways:
• Everyone is totally free to choose the dishes they want to bring without a definite theme in mind, in other words, without minding whether they bring starters, main courses or desserts, or whether these combine with each other or not.
• Setting down a few basic guidelines for the dinner as a whole, so that it has enough of a variety of dishes and flavours to satisfy the tastes of all the diners.
• Agreeing on a creative menu together, and organising it in such a way that everyone brings a dish.
• Setting a theme for the dinner: regional cuisine, or international, for example.
WHATEVER WE DO, IT IS IMPORTANT TO CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING POINTS:
1. Choose dishes that, when heated, do not lose their essential flavours, what identifies them, their texture. That's why it's best to avoid anything in batter. Freshly cooked, these foods are crunchy but if we reheat them, they lose their consistency.
2. Opt for dishes that can be steamed, baked or roasted, or cooked in a wok. In this case, in order to be able to consume them hot, cooking times must be considered to prevent the dishes from drying out. We can also consider the possibility of incorporating sauces so that they do not burn.
3. Prepare simple dishes, but present them in a way that arouses curiosity and lifts them out of the ordinary.
4. Select seasonal vegetables to accompany and aromatise the menus, taking into account that if consumed raw they must be seasoned when serving.
5. It’s best to choose desserts that can be prepared beforehand, except in the case of a cake, which is better presented whole than in portions.
6. Choose the recipients to be used, considering their versatility for being transported, whether they can be used to present the dish, or to reheat the food.
And let’s not forget about drinks! If choosing the right food for a menu is essential, it’s even more important to choose the right drinks to accompany it. Water, wine, beer or soft drinks must be also planned, when preparing our menu.
