Elísabet Benavent, known on social networks as Beta Coqueta, is one of the most prolific writers in the world of contemporary literature, having sold almost 4,500,000 copies of her works. With a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Cardenal Herrera CEU University of Valencia, she began publishing her books in 2013. Her Valeria saga, as well as her novels Fuimos canciones (We were Songs) and Un cuento perfecto (A perfect story), have been adapted for the small screen by Netflix. Her latest book Esnob was published in 2024.

Here are her “five from”:

COFFEE

It can’t be missing from my pantry. I won’t say that I’m nobody without coffee, but it does help to wake me up and to focus. There is also a certain ritual around that moment of relaxation, of stopping to have a coffee, which makes me feel at home and calm.

GAZPACHO

It’s not that I’m a bad cook, it’s that I lack the patience needed to dedicate time to cooking. It’s one of my pending tasks. So, ready-made  gazpacho comes to my rescue for the occasional supper. I also love it.

WINE

I like to share times with my friends to drink wine and celebrate, so I always keep a few bottles at home in case there is a last minute gathering. My preferred wine is red, although I wouldn’t say no to a well-chilled white wine.

CARBONATED WATER

I’m completely hooked on carbonated water. I prepare it with ice and a small slice of lemon or lime and I always have it to hand when I sit down at the computer.

NUTS

I always like to have a jar of shelled nuts in the kitchen. I mix them with yogurt, I eat them with fruit and sometimes I add them to salads… and I eat them during those journeys to the kitchen when you don’t have clear reason why you are going there.
