We propose you a menu for children

Cooking with children is a real pleasure, both for them and for the ones teaching them. Choosing a recipe and gathering the ingredients and utensils they need can change the idea children have of food and eating. Also, it is a good way to introduce them to the properties of foods and the importance of a balanced diet.

Starting from this idea and considering that children are a motor, capable of changing great aspects of the world, the need arises to offer them endless opportunities to create a food conscience which goes further than simple preferences, and which includes the benefits of making good food choices, correctly handling food, and preparing it in a pleasant, fun and profitable way.

FOSTERING YOUR CURIOSITY

There are many ways to introduce children to the passion for cooking and healthy eating. Their active participation, with freedom, starts with proposing a menu from which they can make a list of ingredients needed to cook. This means choosing and buying the foods that best adjust to their preparation, without forgetting concepts such as fruit and vegetables being in or out of season, respecting the environment, and nutritional aspects. These aspects must be essentially conveyed by the family, which must support healthy eating by setting an example. Helping with reading and interpreting labels, sparking children’s interest, is also important, and will help them to understand what they are eating.

And when it’s time to get your hands dirty, you witness a multitude of expressions and emotions, because gastronomy manifests moods and lets the imagination run wild, while it also promotes a mental order, helping to visualise concepts such as weight and size, and to follow guidelines in mixing ingredients. Activating and combining these two areas offers unique results.

Touching, cutting, chopping, mixing, whisking, kneading, heating, frying, cooking, decorating and serving represent a large number of actions assembled in a menu with a starter, main dish and dessert, which encourage children to try textures, to discover new flavours, colours and smells, and above all, foster complicity, laughter and sharing a unique family moment.
