Ingredients for lemon chicken

To prepare our lemon chicken, we will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 2 lemons
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 100 ml chicken broth
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • sunflower oil for frying
  • 1 egg


Chinese-style lemon chicken recipe step-by-step

Follow the steps of this lemon-chicken recipe:

  1. Cut three thin slices of lemon and squeeze the rest of the two lemons.
  2. In a saucepan, cook the lemon juice together with the sugar, stock, a spoonful of cornstarch and the three lemon slices. Then, let it simmer until it thickens.
  3. Marinate the chicken breasts in soy sauce for about 30 minutes. We can cut them crosswise if we see that they are too thick.
  4. Mix the other spoonful of cornstarch with the beaten egg and, with this mixture, we coat the breasts once drained. Fry them until golden brown.
  5. Cut the breasts into small strips to make it easier to eat our lemon chicken with chopsticks.
  6. Next, it’s time to plate the dish. We will use a dish in which we will put three slices of lemon and cover with half of the lemon sauce. Then, place the chicken on top, pour the rest of the sauce also on top of the breast and take it immediately to the table so that it does not get cold.
