With the arrival of this season, you may notice that bars tend to serve one of the key dishes for August: the summer salad. These are very simple dishes which are also very quick to prepare, as the ingredients only need to be boiled and mixed together. There are various versions, but there is no doubt that the summer potato salad wins every time. Among the different versions, the traditional country salad is worth noting.
The country salad consist of ingredients that are healthy and easy to get hold of, such as potatoes, peas, eggs, red pepper, green pepper and onion. Therefore, it’s an irresistible dish.

Country salad, a delicious recipe
Country salad: ingredients for making it
- 3 medium potatoes
- 1 egg
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- 1 onion
- 250 grams of peas
- Vinegar
- Oil
- Salt
How do you make it?
Start by cleaning the potatoes and boiling them in their skins. When they are ready, leave them in the fridge for approximately one hour so that they cool.
At the same time, boil the egg until it is completely cooked. If you like it a little softer, you can also opt for a poached egg. If you like it well cooked, it is best to place it in cold water for 10 minutes after cooking it to avoid the yolk turning green.
Meanwhile, cut the rest of the ingredients into small pieces.
Lastly, mix all the ingredients together and season to taste. The country salad, a recipe that’s as delicious as its simple to make!
Summer salad with chickpeas, a tasty choice
Salad with chickpeas: ingredients required
- Basil leaves
- Piquillo peppers
- Onion
- Black grapes
- Chickpeas
- Vinegar
- Oil
- Salt
How do you make it?
Use a tin of cooked chickpeas. Rinse the chickpeas and leave them to drain for a while.
Then, cut the basil leaves, the piquillo peppers and cut the onion into rings.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, or a lunchbox if you want to take it to the beach, add the black gapes to give it a sweet touch and season it with a little vinegar, oil and salt.
