Mónica Naranjo is a singer, composer and music producer. She has one of the most powerful voices on the national music scene and, throughout her career she has performed duets with Luciano Pavarotti, Tom Jones, Rocío Jurado and the Italian singer, Mina. Since 1994 she has sold almost 9 million records, mainly in Europe and America, and has received many awards including three World Music Awards.

Here are her Top 5:

Eggs are never missing from my fridge. I like to cook them in many different ways: boiled, fried, griddled, poached, stuffed, in an omelette…They are delicious!

Like many people of my generation, I was brought up on stews. I have also brought my son up in the same way and, like his parents, he is as strong as an ox.

Fruit is an essential part of my diet, but if I had to choose one fruit, I would stick with apples. I always have one in my handbag! You know the English saying: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”.

I could easily do without meat and fish. I only eat it at home because of my husband and son. But if you took my vegetables away, you would kill me! If I lived on my own I am sure that I would become an ovo-lacto vegetarian.

After each meal I always eat an ounce of chocolate. It is really healthy, even for the soul, as it stimulates the production of seratonin (the happiness hormone).
